Nawanshahr/Raho- National Labor Organization (NLO) Convener Baldev Bharti State Awardee said that the website of the online portal of workers' registration and welfare schemes of Punjab Bhawan and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, which is often closed, is also full of flaws.
In this, while applying for renewal of Labor Card (Registration) of registered construction workers, grace period contribution of Rs 10 and monthly late fee of Rs 5 is not being deposited. Whereas one year's contribution of only Rs 120 is being deposited. This will create a huge obstacle for construction worker beneficiaries in taking advantage of welfare schemes in future.
He also said that after applying for various welfare schemes like construction workers' stipend, Shagun Scheme, cremation and last rites, while checking the status, the names of the concerned members are not appearing on the screen. Due to which the beneficiaries are facing a lot of trouble.
Convener of the organization Baldev Bharti demanded from Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister-cum-Chairman Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Tarunpreet Singh Saund, Labor Minister Punjab that while renewing the registration of construction workers, the grace period contribution and late fee should also be deposited, so that the workers do not face any problem in getting the benefits of welfare schemes in future.
Apart from this, arrangements should also be made to display the names of the concerned members on the screen regarding the application forms of welfare schemes.
