Good news... Pucca houses will be built for all eligible people in Municipal Corporation Una

Una, 6 February- After the formation of Municipal Corporation Una, now the citizens of the area have started getting its direct benefit. Especially, this is a great news for the gram panchayats included in the Municipal Corporation. The survey of the second phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) has started, under which an amount of Rs 2.50 lakh per family will be provided to build pucca houses for all the eligible people in Municipal Corporation Una.

Una, 6 February- After the formation of Municipal Corporation Una, now the citizens of the area have started getting its direct benefit. Especially, this is a great news for the gram panchayats included in the Municipal Corporation. The survey of the second phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) has started, under which an amount of Rs 2.50 lakh per family will be provided to build pucca houses for all the eligible people in Municipal Corporation Una.

Additional Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that people eligible for the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)-2 can now do their own survey. After verification by the selection committee, this amount will be provided to them. He said that interested beneficiaries can apply online on the integrated web portal with the necessary documents including land ownership proof or can also apply through Lokmitra Kendra. Apart from this, the urban level technical cell can also be contacted in the Municipal Corporation office.

This is the eligibility:
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), the beneficiary families will include husband, wife and unmarried children. Families living in urban areas should not have a pucca house in any part of India and the annual income of the family should be less than Rs 3 lakh. Eligible families will be given assistance of Rs 2.50 lakh for the construction of a pucca house on their available land. It will be mandatory to construct at least two rooms, kitchen, and toilet-bathroom in the new pucca house.

They will get preference:
Under the scheme, preference will be given to widows, single women, Divyangjan, senior citizens, transgenders, Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes, minorities and weaker sections of the society. Apart from this, special attention will be given to sanitation workers, street vendors under PM Swanidhi Yojana, various artisans of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Anganwadi workers, building and other construction workers, and groups identified in the operation of PMAY Urban-2.

Construction of 601 houses completed with 10 crores in the first phase:
Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that in the first phase of the scheme, 604 houses were approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in the Municipal Corporation area, for which an amount of Rs 10.24 crore was approved. Out of these, the construction of 601 houses has been completed and Rs 9.97 crore has been released to the beneficiaries.

These panchayats will get direct benefit:
The 14 panchayats included in the Municipal Corporation will get direct benefit of this scheme. The special thing is that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rs 1.50 lakh is given in rural areas, while in urban areas Rs 2.50 lakh is given for house construction. Apart from this, the annual income limit has also been kept at Rs 3 lakh for urban areas as against Rs 1.80 lakh in rural areas. This will directly benefit the citizens of 14 Panchayats of the Municipal Corporation area - Gram Panchayat Jhaleda, Ransari, Kotla Khurd, Ajanoli, Kotla Kalan (Lower and Upper), Lal Singi, Arniala (Lower and Upper), Malahat, Rampur, Kuthar Khurd, Kuthar Kalan and Gram Panchayat Tabba (partial).

Exercise started for cleanliness and sewerage system:
Apart from this, Mr. Gurjar said that a blueprint is being prepared for cleanliness and sewerage system in all the Panchayats included in the Municipal Corporation area. For this, along with speeding up the process of site selection, the tender process of cleanliness system has also been moved forward.
