Maur Mandi, March 14- Maud police has named two more youths in the case of murder of Chandigarh student Charis Goyal by throwing her in canal. Police has arrested Raghav, friend of Mukul Mittal, resident of Maud, the main accused in this murder case, while Tanish is being searched. Police said that Raghav and Tanish had helped the accused in murdering the girl.
It is worth noting that Maud police had already registered a case and arrested Mukul Mittal, his friend Karan Bansal, uncle Rajkumar Raju, father Ravi Mittal and mother Dimple. Police has now named Raghav and Tanish on the basis of interrogation done during the investigation. SHO Maud Paramveer Singh said that police remand of the accused is being obtained and further interrogation is being done.
It is noteworthy that Mukul Mittal with the help of his friends brought Charis Goyal, a student from Chandigarh, to Maud Mandi in his Bolero car. Here the said accused threw Charis Goyal in the Kotla Branch Canal on Sunday night, which was discovered on Monday morning, after which the police registered a case against five people. The police recovered the girl's body on Wednesday.
In protest against the girl's murder, Maud residents closed their businesses and blocked the Bathinda-Chandigarh highway from all sides. People accused the police of laxity, due to which SSP Bathinda Madam Amneet Kaudal took major action against SHO Maud Manjit Singh and suspended him.
Now the police have named two more youths, due to which the number of accused has increased to seven. SHO Maud Paramveer Singh said that two more youths Raghav and Tanish have been named in the girl's murder case and Raghav has been arrested. He said that police remand of the alleged accused is being obtained and further investigation is being conducted in the case.
