
Three Unauthorized Constructions Built by Drug Smugglers Demolished
Nawanshahr- Under the 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab Government to eradicate drugs and remove illegal encroachments made by drug peddlers, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police in coordination with the local civil administration demolished the unauthorized constructions in Kalran Mohalla of Nawanshahr today.
Nawanshahr- Under the 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab Government to eradicate drugs and remove illegal encroachments made by drug peddlers, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police in coordination with the local civil administration demolished the unauthorized constructions in Kalran Mohalla of Nawanshahr today.
These illegal constructions were built by three families, who are associated with the drug trade, which have been demolished on the orders of the civil administration.
Giving more information in this regard, SSP Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Dr. Mehtab Singh said that the demolition was done on the request of the Municipal Council, which needed police assistance to demolish these illegal structures.
This action has been taken against women named Biro, Shinde and Santosh, against whom several cases have been registered. He said that 14 cases have been registered against one of these families.
He reiterated that on the instructions of the Punjab Government, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police will continue to take action against drugs and illegal possessions. He appealed to the people to provide information about such illegal activities.
He assured that immediate and strict action will be taken against the culprits. He warned the drug smugglers to either give up drug smuggling and do some other work, or be ready for strictest action.
He said that the local residents were extremely disturbed by these smugglers, for which they are welcoming this action of the Punjab Government. People said that they welcome these efforts being taken by the Punjab Government to eradicate drugs in the state.
