
Disaster friend deployed for crowd control and disaster awareness at Maidi fair
Una, March 11- 21 Disaster friend volunteers have been deployed for crowd management and disaster awareness work during the famous and historic Maidi Holi fair going on in subdivision Amb of district Una. These include 8 women and 13 male volunteers. Deputy Commissioner Una and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Jatin Lal has issued orders in this regard and directed the volunteers to work in collaboration with the local administration, police and home guards.

These include 8 women and 13 male volunteers. It is noteworthy that thousands of devotees from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana are reaching this historic fair every day. In view of the heavy crowd, it has been decided to take the services of Disaster friend volunteers for the purpose of disaster management, crowd control and quick assistance in emergency during the fair. All these volunteers have already received training under the Disaster Management Scheme of the Government of India.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the deployment of Disaster friend volunteers will ensure crowd management during the fair and quick assistance in emergency. Also, these volunteers will play an important role in spreading awareness related to cleanliness and disaster.
