Giving information in this regard, SSP, Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that the police administration of all the districts of the state has already been informed that the Chief Officers and Traffic Incharges of the Police Stations under their respective districts/units should instruct the representatives of truck unions and panchayats to prevent any double-decker trucks/vehicles, big speakers on tractor trolleys, pressure horns on motorcycles and motorcycle drivers without silencers etc. from coming to Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib during Hola-Mohalla.
He said that along with this, action should also be taken against those violating traffic rules and laws and the speakers causing noise pollution should be removed from the vehicles on the spot and sent forward.
Gulneet Khurana said that to prevent the inconvenience caused to the Sangat coming from the country and abroad due to the sound of speakers during the Hola-Mohalla Mela, it has been decided that no double-decker truck/vehicle with speakers will be allowed to enter Rupnagar district during the Mela. He said that in the year 2023, a Sikh youth died during Hola-Mohalla due to the tractor loudspeaker, for which he appealed to all the Sangat to follow the instructions and traffic rules issued by the police administration so that any untoward incident can be prevented at any level.
