
Joint meeting of industrialists, Government Polytechnic Khooni Mazra and CTR Ludhiana held to discuss setting up of CTR extension centre
SAS Nagar, March 3: On the special initiative of Amit Talwar, Director, Technical Education and Industrial Training Department, Punjab, a joint meeting of officials of Government Polytechnic College Khooni Mazra, Central Tool Room Ludhiana and industrialists of Mohali city was held with the joint efforts of Arshjit Singh, General Manager, District Industries Centre to discuss the Central Tool Room extension centre to be set up at Government Polytechnic College Khooni Mazra.
SAS Nagar, March 3: On the special initiative of Amit Talwar, Director, Technical Education and Industrial Training Department, Punjab, a joint meeting of officials of Government Polytechnic College Khooni Mazra, Central Tool Room Ludhiana and industrialists of Mohali city was held with the joint efforts of Arshjit Singh, General Manager, District Industries Centre to discuss the Central Tool Room extension centre to be set up at Government Polytechnic College Khooni Mazra.
Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal, Officer-in-Charge, Civil Engineering, Government Polytechnic College Khooni Mazra informed that during this meeting, a meeting was held under the leadership of Additional Director Technical Education Ravinder Singh Hundal and Principal Raksha Kiran to obtain suggestions on the courses, syllabus, coordination with industrial units, technical needs and new horizons of industry in Mohali region.
Jagdeep Singh, Head of Training, Central Tool Room Ludhiana, emphasized on better coordination between technical education institutes and industrial units so that the youth receiving technical education can plan their future according to the need of the industry.
Prof. Amit Kapoor discussed the subject of Mechatronics with inter-coordination of electronics, mechanical and IT sector. Arshjeet, General Manager, District Industries Center said that the opening of the said extension center will not only benefit the youth of this area but will also give a boost to the small scale industries of Rajpura and Ropar along with Mohali.
On behalf of the industrial units, Kanwar Harveer Singh Dhindsa thanked the Technical Education Department for this innovative initiative.
During the meeting, Sanjeev Jindal, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Government Polytechnic College Khooni Mazra and Tarun Kanodia, Assistant Registrar, PTU Campus also expressed their views.
