24 February Hoshiarpur- 2015 batch IPS officer Sandeep Kumar Malik took over as SSP here today and said that complete eradication of drugs, prevention of all types of crimes, appropriate action against gangsters and strict action in cases of extortion will be his main priority.
While talking after taking over, IPS Sandeep Kumar Malik sought cooperation from the people to make Hoshiarpur district safe in every aspect. He said that cooperation of the public is very important for policing, so that effective prevention of crimes can be done. He said that appropriate action will be taken in these cases while keeping every information given by the public completely confidential.
He said that appropriate solutions will be ensured for public problems and social concerns by talking to the concerned parties from time to time and necessary decisions will be taken by discussing with all the parties on issues like traffic, illegal encroachment etc. in the city. While discussing about the prevention of crimes, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, strict action will be taken immediately against any kind of crime and no mercy will be shown to anyone.
He said that strict action will be taken against drug smugglers and elements involved in organized crime so that legal action can be taken and they can be given appropriate punishment. He appealed to the people that the details of those giving any kind of intelligence information will be kept completely confidential and safe.
After taking charge, the SSP held a meeting with the senior police officers, SHOs, outpost in-charges of the district in the police line and directed that law and order should be maintained at all times. He said that no leniency should be shown against drugs, organized crime and bad elements.
He said that corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances and it should be ensured that public problems are resolved on priority basis. On reaching the district administrative complex, IPS Sandeep Kumar Malik was given a guard of honor and the officers welcomed him by presenting a bouquet. During this time, IPS officer Surendra Lamba resigned from his charge. Both the officers also met Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal.
