
NSS volunteers clean Bebe Nanaki and Mai Bhago hostels at Punjabi University
Patiala, February 17- Swachhata Abhiyan has been launched by the NSS department of Punjabi University, under which volunteers are cleaning Bebe Nanaki and Mai Bhago girls hostels. Program coordinator Dr. Anhad Singh Gill said that this work is being done under 'Swachhata Hi Seva', which is being done in collaboration with the Dean Student Welfare Office.
Patiala, February 17- Swachhata Abhiyan has been launched by the NSS department of Punjabi University, under which volunteers are cleaning Bebe Nanaki and Mai Bhago girls hostels. Program coordinator Dr. Anhad Singh Gill said that this work is being done under 'Swachhata Hi Seva', which is being done in collaboration with the Dean Student Welfare Office. He asked the students to keep their surroundings clean and motivated them to contribute in keeping the environment clean.
At the beginning of this campaign, Additional Dean Student Welfare Dr. Naina Sharma made the students aware about cleanliness and said that we should put wet and dry garbage in separate dustbins, which makes garbage disposal easier. After this, a rally was also taken out by the volunteers on the topic 'Plant trees, save environment' for the protection of the environment.
On this occasion, Provost Dr. Idarjit Singh Chahal encouraged the students. 57 women volunteers including programme officers Dr. Lakhvir Singh, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Simranjit Singh, Dr. Abhinav Bhandari, Dr. Sunita and hostel wardens Harpreet Kaur and Dr. Anupreet Kaur participated in the cleanliness drive and rally.
