
Angry employees protested against the government for not getting salary - submitted a demand letter to get their demands.
Patiala 21/4/2025- A dharna was organized by PWD Field Aid Workshop Workers Union Zone Patiala against the Punjab Government on behalf of the Allied State Committee Axis Water Supply under the leadership of Gurcharan Singh Dhanoa, Malkit Singh Bhutan, Yashpal and Dharampal Singh Lot and after staging a dharna in front of the office of Sanitation Division Mechanical, demand letters were given to the Punjab Government through Division Mechanical, Division No. 1 and 2.

On this occasion, while addressing the employees gathered in the dharna, state leaders Lakhwinder Singh Khanpur, Rajpal Singh Lasoi, Darshan Singh Belumaajra, Jasvir Singh Khokhar, Gurcharan Singh Khatkala, Jarnail Singh Bhunrehdi, Chand Rasulhar, Balwinder Singh Bajwa and other employee leaders staged a dharna at the treasury offices on behalf of the Punjab Government. Strongly condemned demonetization and demanded the employees to get the salary of March month and GP. Demanded release of funds. The speakers demanded that the medical bills and dues of the retired employees should be released immediately. The decisions of handing over the ongoing schemes to Panchayats and privatization of departments should be withdrawn.
Hardev Singh Samana, Harmesh Lal, Sahib Singh, Vijay Sharma, Manmohan Singh, Deepak Kumar, Randhir Singh Shahil, Mast Ram, Vinod Kumar, Bipan Prasad, Naresh Singh Bausar and other speakers addressed the gathering and demanded that the old pension should be implemented on the employees recruited after 2004, which was stopped by the previous government. 37 allowances should be restored, the installments of DA and the arrears should be paid immediately, the field employees of grade 3 and grade 4 should be upgraded. Stopping taking exams on time should make promotions on the basis of seniority, changes should be made in the field employees, rights of NOC etc should be given to the DDO. level, permanent recruitment should be done on vacant posts, vacant posts should be made permanent and minimum salary should be fixed at Rs. 30000, temporary employees should be given all facilities like permanent employees.
The speakers warned that if the demands mentioned in the memorandum are not resolved through talks, then the struggle against the Punjab Government and the department head will be intensified and tomorrow on 22nd April, Punjab Employees and Pensioners will participate in the funeral demonstration being organized by the United Front of Punjab Employees and Pensioners in front of DC Patiala office.
