SHO Jagjit Singh of Mohali Phase 1 police station and his entire team stopped and checked all the vehicles coming from Old Barrier Chowk of Mohali Phase 1, and those vehicles which did not have complete documents were seized. SHO Jagjit Singh of Mohali Phase 1 police station said that many complaints were being received from the people of the city that some unknown bike riding youths were robbing pedestrians and street vendors at night. Last night, bike riding youths robbed a youth named Jitendra of cash and mobile at knife point and fled from the spot. Jitendra Kumar lodged a complaint in Mohali Phase-1 police station. Jitendra Kumar also told that the robbers have made small transactions of ? 2200 from his mobile so far.
The police have started investigation of the youths. In view of this, a special check post was set up in Mohali Phase-1 area today for checking vehicles and bike riders were stopped and questioned.
