17 February Hoshiarpur- After providing vision to Shankar Das, a resident of Hoshiarpur, Rotary Eye Bank and Cornea Transplant Society, under the leadership of Principal and eminent social worker Sanjeev Arora, performed the ceremony of removing his bandage at Bali Hospital, Model Town. On this occasion, Sarpanch Sukhwant Singh of village Mandiala and his wife Jatinder Kaur were present as chief guests.

On this occasion, Sarpanch Sukhwant Singh of village Mandiala and his wife Jatinder Kaur were present as chief guests.
The program started with Principal Sanjeev Arora, J.B. Wahal and Dr. Jameel Bali welcoming the guests and presenting a bouquet to the chief guest. On this occasion, Chief Guest Sukhwant Singh congratulated Shankar Das on regaining his vision and said that the service being provided by Rotary Eye Bank to people suffering from corneal blindness is invaluable.
He appealed to the people to come forward to fill the eye donation form so that people living in darkness can also see this beautiful world. He assured all possible cooperation in this noble cause. On this occasion, impressed by the camp, Vikas Sood, his wife Shivani Sood and Raj Kumar Malik also filled the pledge form to donate their eyes. On this occasion, President Sanjeev Arora and J.B. Wall gave detailed information about the society's work and said that every member of the society is fulfilling the responsibility entrusted by God very well.
Because there can be no greater work than using human life for the benefit of humanity. Mr. Arora said that eyes donated by one person bring light in the dark lives of two people and the society has provided free light to more than 4100 people so far and 24 dead bodies have been sent to various medical colleges for research after death. Dr. Jameel Bali thanked the guests and said that according to Indian culture, eye donation is the donation that is considered after Kanyadan. Let us become a part of virtue by offering sacrifice in this yagya and make our lives meaningful.
In the end, the chief guest was honored with a memento and certificates were also given to those who filled the eye donation form. The role of stage management was played by the secretary of the society, Prof. D.K. Sharma played the role.
