Hoshiarpur, February 17: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal informed that the nomination center for Ward No. 1 to 13 of Municipal Council Talwara has been set up at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary Smart School Sector-01, Ward No. 10, Talwara.
Interested candidates can file their nomination papers here on the scheduled dates. The District Election Officer informed that to ensure transparency and fairness of the elections, the Punjab State Election Commission has appointed Tehsildar Mukerian Manish Kumar as Returning Officer and BDPO Hajipur Vikram Singh as Assistant Returning Officer.
District Election Officer Komal Mittal informed that nominations have started from February 17. The time for filing nominations is from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and the last date for filing nominations is 20 February 2025 till 3:00 pm. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 21 February 2025.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination is 22 February 2025 till 3:00 pm. Voting will be held on 2 March 2025 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Counting of votes will be done on 2 March 2025 immediately after the end of polling on the same day. He informed that the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in Talwara Municipal Council area, which will remain in force till polling.
