Mahilpur, February 5- On the occasion of a special function organized by the Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, a serious discussion was held among the students of various classes of the college on the topic 'Main concerns of contemporary society and gender equality'.

Mahilpur, February 5- On the occasion of a special function organized by the Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, a serious discussion was held among the students of various classes of the college on the topic 'Main concerns of contemporary society and gender equality'.
On this occasion, students of undergraduate and various postgraduate courses expressed their views openly on the said topic. The function was presided over by Prof. Ajit Langeri, Prof. Zorawar Singh, Pr. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Sarpanch Balwinder Singh Manaulia and Premjit Singh Hoshiarpur. Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh shared the welcome words and said that along with academic education, participating in such functions leads to the all-round development of students.
On this occasion, student Tanveer shared a PPT on the theory of feminism and its various stages of development. After this, students Rubal, Jashanpreet Kaur, Archana, Rukmani, Kanika, Harjinder Kaur, Payal, Sadhna, Khushi, Sakina presented various aspects related to gender discrimination in contemporary society in a logical manner and won the appreciation of the audience. During the ceremony, the students present in the audience asked questions to the concerned panel on many issues including the real meaning of women safety and equality in the current era.
On this occasion, the chief guest Prof. Ajit Langeri appreciated such an initiative of the students and described women and men in the society as two wheels of the vehicle of life. Premjit Singh Hoshiarpur inspired women to become entrepreneurs themselves for their freedom, equality and parity. On this occasion, the students who participated in the panel discussion and answered questions were honored by the college management.
During the ceremony, student Rubal conducted the stage and Prof. Tajinder Singh, Dr. JB Sekhon and Dr. Aarti Sharma contributed in the efficient management of the ceremony. Students and staff members were present on this occasion.
