Garhshankar- A meeting of Adarsh ??Social Welfare Society Punjab was held in village Moila Wahidpur under the leadership of founder president Satish Kumar Soni. This meeting was held with the village Panchayat and village dignitaries regarding the preparation for the organization of Dhiya Di Lohri to be held on the 12th. In which village Sarpanch S. Jaswinder Singh, Tej Pal, Karambir Singh Panch, Joginder Singh Panch, Jagdish Singh Panch, Makhan Singh Panch, Dr. Harikrishnan Banga General Secretary Punjab, Prof. Jagdish Rai Spokesperson Punjab, Kiran Bala Banga General Secretary District Nawashahr, Jaspreet Bajwa Vice President District Nawashahr, Santokh Singh Joint Secretary Block Garhshankar etc. were present.
On this occasion, President Satish Kumar Soni said that the society has been running the Dhi Bachao Beti Bachao campaign since 2017. During which efforts like Dhiya di Lohri, awareness camps in schools to save the environment etc. are taken up. He said that the society organizes Dhiya di Lohri in different villages every year. This time, the eighth consecutive Dhiya di Lohri is being organized in village Moila Wahidpur. In which 21 Dhiya di Lohri will be offered.
During which they will be presented with materials related to Lohri and apart from this, daughters who have brought glory to the villages in different areas will also be honored. Spokesperson Punjab Prof Jagdish Rai said that Dhiya di Lohri has great importance in the society and our Gurus have also given it a respectable status in their holy Gurbani. General Secretary Punjab Dr. Harikrishnan Banga said that the main purpose of Dhian di Lohri is to end the gender discrimination between sons and daughters and to give them due respect and dignity in the society.
Madam Kiran Bala Banga said that organizing Dhian di Lohri by Adarsh ??Social Welfare Society Punjab is a very commendable step. All parents should organize their daughters' Lohri, because now daughters have shown their existence in every field. Village Sarpanch Sardar Jaswinder Singh said that it is a matter of great joy for our village that Adarsh ??Social Welfare Society has chosen our village for organizing Dhian di Lohri. Our villagers will give full support to this noble work of the society.
