Patiala Administration declares District Administrative Complex as Plastic Free Zone

Patiala, December 24- Taking a significant step towards making Patiala a plastic free district, the regional office of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) in collaboration with Patiala Welfare Society launched a campaign to distribute eco-friendly bags at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Patiala, December 24- Taking a significant step towards making Patiala a plastic free district, the regional office of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) in collaboration with Patiala Welfare Society launched a campaign to distribute eco-friendly bags at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
As part of this initiative, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav officially declared the District Administrative Complex as a plastic free zone. The Deputy Commissioner, highlighting the importance of adopting sustainable practices to align with the government’s policy to ban plastic and single-use plastic (SUP) items, appealed to the people to use cloth and jute bags.
SDM Nabha Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh, Patiala Social Welfare Society President Vijay Kumar Goyal, Harbans Bansal, Environmental Engineer Eng Gurkaran Singh, and Assistant Environmental Engineer Mohit Bisht were also present on the occasion.
