Prof. Pannu gave a special lecture on the unparalleled martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri

Patiala, December 24 - The Department of Punjabi Language Development of Punjabi University organized a special lecture by renowned Sikh thinker Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu under the 'Special Lecture Series Dedicated to the Unparalleled Martyrdom of the Younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji'.

Patiala, December 24 - The Department of Punjabi Language Development of Punjabi University organized a special lecture by renowned Sikh thinker Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu under the 'Special Lecture Series Dedicated to the Unparalleled Martyrdom of the Younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji'.
Head of the Department Dr. Parminderjit Kaur said that this was the second lecture under this series started last year with the collaboration of the Department of History and Punjab History Studies, Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies and Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Religious Studies.
Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu, while talking about various historical references, presented facts related to the subject in an interesting manner. He said that the moment in which a special event occurs or history is created, that moment is transformed into an era. He said that in Sikh history, a moment was transformed into an era by the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas.
He said that the younger Sahibzadas came to this earth and then remained here forever due to their unparalleled martyrdom. Talking about the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, he said that it is often said that Guru Sahib gave martyrdom for some other religion. He said that in fact, there was no one else for Guru Sahib. For him, everyone was his own. He said that we should be proud of such a rich heritage of ours.
While presiding over the program, Dr. Mohan Singh said that to feel such a spiritual experience in today's era of logic, we need to connect with our heritage and spirituality from the heart. He said that we all should connect with Gurbani and adopt the principles of Guru Sahib in our lifestyle.
Prof. Gurmail Singh, Head of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Religious Studies, said that the three practices practiced by Sikhism, namely Langar, Kirtan and Shahadat, are known to the whole world today.
Dr. Gunjanjot Kaur, Head of the Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies, said that it would be a great thing if we implement the purpose of these martyrs in life and tell our new generation about this great heritage of ours. Finally, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Head of the Department of History and Punjab History Studies, thanked everyone.
