Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 10, 2024: In Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, cooperative societies have distributed about 2000 metric tonnes of DAP and its alternative fertilizers to their farmer members till Saturday evening.
Giving this information, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Gurbir Singh Dhillon said that the work of supplying fertilizers to the farmer members of cooperative societies is done through 65 cooperative societies of the district.
He said that fertilizers are supplied to the cooperative societies by Markfed and IFFCO. So far 1665 metric tonnes of DAP has been distributed to the farmer members by the cooperative societies. Apart from this, 372 metric tonnes of NPK has been supplied to the farmers as an alternative to DAP.
Mr. Dhillon assured the farmer members of the cooperative societies of the district that they will not be allowed to face any shortage of fertilizers. He said that one more rack of DAP is arriving at Rajpura in the next two-three days, which will continue the supply of DAP and its alternatives for distribution to the farmer members of this district through cooperative societies.
He appealed to the farmers that they can also use other phosphorus containing fertilizers like NPK, Single Super Phosphate and Triple Super Phosphate recommended by the Agriculture Department in place of DAP for sowing wheat, potato and mustard.
