Hoshiarpur - Keeping in mind the festive season, to provide clean and quality food to the people, as per the instructions of Honorable Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab Dr. Abhinav Trikha and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, Hoshiarpur Food Safety Team is checking food items at various places.
District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that his team comprising Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar and Food Safety Officer Avinav Khosla and team members Ram Lubhaya and Arvinder Singh checked the vehicles coming from other districts near Dusarka on Tanda Road.
During this, a big truck was stopped in which about 250 kg of cheese was seized. As per the secret information received, the team raided a warehouse in the nearby village Fatehpur and about 200 to 250 kg of cheese was seized from that warehouse also.
The samples collected from these various places have been sent for laboratory testing. Action will be taken after the sample report comes. District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that keeping in mind the festive season, various teams have been formed and continuous checking is being done. He appealed to the people to contribute their due share in this campaign run by the Health Department against these adulterators and give information against them so that we can provide proper and quality food to the people.
