Hoshiarpur - Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, 450 to 500 needy persons are getting help from the facilities of 'Sanjhi Rasoi' project being run successfully by the District Red Cross Society in the local Mohalla Ish Nagar. In this regard, Secretary District Red Cross Society Mangesh Sood said that for the success of this project, Gurmeet Singh, Branch Manager of Axis Bank, Milan Nagar, Hoshiarpur, donated Rs 10,000 on the occasion of his daughter Hargun Kaur's birthday. Members and employees of the District Red Cross Society were also present on this occasion. On this occasion, the Secretary also informed that this project being run by the District Red Cross is being run with the funds provided by the donors/social workers of the district.
Under the Book-a-Day scheme, along with providing continuous financial assistance for celebrating the birthdays, marriages/marriage anniversaries and memorial days of their family members in Sanjhi Rasoi, ration material assistance is also provided.
