
Deputy Commissioner inspects purchases at Derabassi Mandi
Derabassi (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), October 14, 2024:- Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain visited Derabassi Mandi today and took stock of paddy procurement. On this occasion, she reiterated that farmers will not face any problem in selling paddy in the mandis of the district.
Derabassi (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), October 14, 2024:- Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain visited Derabassi Mandi today and took stock of paddy procurement. On this occasion, she reiterated that farmers will not face any problem in selling paddy in the mandis of the district.
She informed that till yesterday evening, 42501 metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the district, out of which 40259 metric tonnes of produce has been procured. She said that paddy procurement is going on continuously and there is no holiday in it. She said that till yesterday, Rs 84.03 crore has been paid to the farmers of the district.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the agencies to speed up the lifting and said that the lifting should be expedited to prevent congestion in the mandis. She said that some other mandis of the district have been handed over to FCI for procurement so that lifting can be done from there.
He clarified that to run the paddy procurement smoothly, the district administration reviews the procurement operations every morning and resolves the difficulties and obstacles faced in the mandis by asking the representatives of the agencies present in the meeting.
On this occasion, he interacted with the farmers and commission agents present in the mandi, and assured them of knowing their problems and resolving them soon. District Food and Supplies Controller Vijay Kumar Singla was also present on this occasion.
