
Training camp organized to give information about fruit nursery registration and regulation
Una, September 20 - The Horticulture Department Una organized a one-day district level training camp in the auditorium of Animal Husbandry Department on Friday to give in-depth information to nursery growers about nursery registration and regulation. All the nursery growers of Una district participated in this camp and were provided important information on registration of fruit plants and production of high quality plants.

During the program, Deputy Director Horticulture, Dr. KK Bhardwaj informed that almost all types of fruit plants are being prepared in various registered fruit nurseries of the district. He urged the nursery producers to produce high quality and high quality fruit plants so that farmers can get the best quality plants. He also advised that farmers should buy plants only from registered nurseries so that they get certified and healthy plants.
Dr. Bhardwaj said that no nursery producer in the district should produce and sell fruit saplings without registration. Doing so can result in 1 year imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 50,000 under the Himachal Pradesh Fruit Nursery Act.
On this occasion, Senior Plant Protection Officer, Dr. Kirti Sinha from Directorate of Horticulture Shimla gave detailed information about Himachal Pradesh Fruit Nursery Registration and Regulation Act, 2015 and Rules 2020 to the participants. He also highlighted the nursery registration process and ensuring production of high quality nurseries.
Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, Dr. Vinay Sharma, subject expert Dr. Shiv Bhushan, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Horticulture Development Officer Dr. Neha, Dr. Virendra Kumar, Dr. Kavita and Yogesh Kalia were also present in the program.
