Ahmedabad, August 31 - The Gujarat High Court has dismissed the petition filed by jailed Baba Asaram, in which he appealed for suspension of the sentence received in the 2013 rape case. The court said that there is no solid basis for considering the application. In the year 2023, the Gandhinagar court sentenced Asaram to life imprisonment in the case. A bench of Justice Ilesh Vora and Justice Vimal Vyas on Thursday refused to suspend the sentence and grant him bail, saying that there is no case for relief. Asaram is currently lodged in Jodhpur Jail in Rajasthan in another rape case.
