A big blow to the Shiromani Akali Dal, the former MLA left the party and took the 'hand' of the Congress.

Chandigarh (Ankur): The Shiromani Akali Dal has received a big blow, where former MLA Parkash Singh Bhatti has left the party and joined the Congress. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Lok Sabha member from Ludhiana Amarinder Singh Raja Waring on Saturday warmly welcomed former MLA Parkash Singh Bhatti on joining the Congress party from Shiromani Akali Dal.

Chandigarh (Ankur): The Shiromani Akali Dal has received a big blow, where former MLA Parkash Singh Bhatti has left the party and joined the Congress. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Lok Sabha member from Ludhiana Amarinder Singh Raja Waring on Saturday warmly welcomed former MLA Parkash Singh Bhatti on joining the Congress party from Shiromani Akali Dal.
It may be mentioned that Bhatti, who won on a Congress ticket from Balluana in 2002, joined the party a few days ago in the presence of Punjab Congress in-charge Devendra Yadav. On Saturday, he was formally received by state Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Waring and Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa.
Raja Waring said that Bhatti has continuously worked for the betterment of Punjab. Pratap Singh Bajwa said that Bhatti is a very hardworking leader who has always represented his constituencies with full dedication. His continuous efforts for the people of Punjab are commendable. On this occasion, Parkash Singh Bhatti thanked the entire Congress leadership for this. He said that I am grateful for this opportunity to serve the people of Punjab once again under the banner of Punjab Congress.
Waring insisted that Bhatti's return to the party would strengthen the Congress. He will soon be entrusted with important work to advance the interests of the people of Punjab. Parkash Singh Bhatti was the former chairman of Faridkot Improvement Trust (2002-07) and is also the former chairman of SC Corporation Punjab (2013-16). Punjab Congress General Secretary Captain Sandeep Sandhu and Punjab Youth Congress President Mohit Mahindra also attended the press conference and welcomed Prakash Singh Bhatti. When asked about Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film 'Emergency', the Pradesh Congress President said that she has been spreading hatred for a long time.
