Una, 31 August - By-elections will be held for the vacant posts of Pradhan, Up-Pradhan and Panchayat members in Panchayati Raj institutions in Una district due to some unforeseen reasons. Assistant District Election Officer (Panchayat) Neelam Katoch said that nominations for the by-election will be filled on 11, 12 and 13 September from 11 am to 3 pm. Nomination papers will be scrutinized after 10 am on 16 September. Candidates can withdraw their nominations from 10 am to 3 pm on 18 September. After the process of withdrawal of nomination, election symbols will be allotted to the candidates. Voting will be held on 29 September from 8 am to 4 pm.
He said that on completion of the voting process, the election results of the Pradhan, Deputy Pradhan and Panchayat members will be declared at the Gram Panchayat headquarters on the same day. He said that the model code of conduct will remain in force till the completion of the election process in the entire Panchayat for the election of Pradhan and Deputy Pradhan and in the respective ward for the post of Panchayat member.
By-elections are to be held here
Neelam Katoch said that under development block Amb, by-elections will be held for the posts of Deputy Pradhan in Gram Panchayat Nari Chintapurni, Panchayat member in ward 3 of Gram Panchayat Amb Tilla and Panchayat member in ward 4 of Gram Panchayat Andaura Upper. Under development block Una, by-elections will be held for the posts of Panchayat member in ward 2 of Gram Panchayat Basoli, Panchayat member in ward 5 of Gram Panchayat Arniala Lower and Panchayat member in ward 6 of Gram Panchayat Bhatoli. Under development block Gagret, by-elections will be held for the post of Panchayat member in ward 3 of Gram Panchayat Jadla Koidi and for the post of Pradhan in Gram Panchayat Ghanari. Apart from this, by-elections will be held for Panchayat member posts in ward 4 of Gram Panchayat Chhaporoh Kalan of development block Bangana. At the same time, by-election will be held for the vacant post of Panchayat member in ward 5 of Gram Panchayat Panjawar in development block Haroli.
