
2 arrested for smuggling weapons across the border, weapons recovered
Amritsar, June 6 - The Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police has arrested two persons on charges of smuggling weapons across the border and recovered eight pistols. The arrested persons have been identified as Sukhchain Singh and Jugraj Singh.

Disclosing this, DGP Gaurav Yadav told 'X' that the police had received intelligence information in this regard, on the basis of which immediate action was taken and these two accused have been arrested. He said, "Both have been arrested while transporting weapons smuggled from Pakistan to a safe place. These weapons were sent by Pakistani smuggler Noor."
The DGP said that the recovered weapons include three 9 mm Glock pistols, four PX5 type pistols and one .30 bore pistol. A case has been registered in this regard at the State Special Operations Cell police station and further investigation into the matter is underway.
