Una, 15 July 2024 - Work is being done to prepare the electoral roll for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that eligible voters can get themselves registered for the election of the members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Board. He informed that as per the schedule received from the Director Panchayati Raj and Commissioner Gurdwara Elections Himachal Pradesh, the registration process of voters is being done till September 16, 2024.
He informed that from September 17 to October 7, the preliminary publication of the handwritten manual will be done by preparing it and printing and maintaining it. He informed that the preliminary publication of the manual will be done by the Deputy Commissioner on October 8. Claims and objections related to the name, post and address published in the preliminary publication list or in the case of an employee, his post and address can be made by submitting it before the concerned revision authority by October 8. He informed that the last date for receiving claims and objections under the Sikh Gurdwara Board Election Rules will be from October 8 to October 28. All claims and objections received under Rule 10(3) of the Sikh Gurdwara Board Election Rules, 1959 will be settled from October 29 to November 6, 2024. Apart from this, the abbreviated lists will be prepared for printing from November 7 to 20 and the final publication of voter lists will be done on November 21.
The District Election Officer has appealed to the eligible voters of the district to get themselves registered for the SGPC elections by September 16.
