District administration has zero tolerance policy on illegal mining
Una, August 3 - To completely curb illegal mining in Una district, the district administration has adopted a zero tolerance policy. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal further intensified this campaign and himself raided Khanpur, Fatehpur and Ghaluwal late Friday night. In this strict action that lasted from 12 to 2 in the night, he ordered FIR in two cases of illegal mining storage caught in Khanpur. During this, the DC also checked the vehicles. SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan, Police Sub Inspector Mehtpur Saurabh Thakur and Mining Inspector Pankaj Kumar were also present with him.

It may be noted that Industry Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan had directed the officials to deal strictly with illegal mining in a meeting held in Una yesterday. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has given clear instructions that strict action should be taken against those involved in illegal mining. In compliance with these instructions, the Una district administration is engaged in strict monitoring and prevention of illegal mining.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that illegal mining will not be tolerated under any circumstances in Una district. Those involved in illegal mining and causing damage to the environment will not be spared at all. He said that FIRs will be registered against those involved in illegal mining as well as owners of illegal storage.
The Deputy Commissioner said that he has given instructions to register FIR in two cases of illegal mining storage caught in Khanpur on Friday night. Earlier, the Mining Department has also taken action in Fatehpur and Udaipur and registered 4 FIRs in cases of illegal mining storage. The Deputy Commissioner said that strict legal action will be taken under the Mining and Environment Act against those who tamper with nature. Vehicles and machinery being used for illegal mining will also be seized. All SDMs and concerned departments have been instructed to deal strictly with illegal mining.
