Una, August 3 - This year preparations are in full swing to celebrate Independence Day celebrations in Una with unparalleled grandeur and new zeal. The district level function will be held on August 15 in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School for Boys, Una, in which a wonderful confluence of parade, tableaux and cultural programs will be seen. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal today held a meeting with the concerned departments and took stock of the preparations for the function and gave necessary guidelines to make it a success.
The Deputy Commissioner said that on August 15, after paying tribute at the Shahid Smarak in MC Park, the chief guest will hoist the national flag in the school premises at 11 am. After this, he will inspect the parade and take the salute of the march past and give a message to the people of the district. Along with the contingents of police and home guards, NCC and NSS children of various educational institutions will also participate in the parade. Apart from this, children of educational institutions will present cultural programs. In case of rain, alternative arrangements have been made to organize the function in the Town Hall.
Tableaux based on social messages and development plans
Jatin Lal said that tableaux based on social messages and development schemes will also be taken out in the function. These will include tableaux related to Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Student Loan Scheme, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Catch the Rain, and agriculture, horticulture, Red Cross and District Disaster Authority. The concerned departments have been instructed to make full preparations in this direction.
Jowar-ragi dishes will be available in sweets
The Deputy Commissioner said that during the function, children will be given sweets made of millets like jowar-ragi etc. This will not only provide healthy food to children but will also encourage self-help groups, promote their products and provide support to women.
Una will shine with tricolor lights
Jatin Lal said that Una city will be seen glittering with tricolour lights in the celebration of Independence Day. The district administration has made special arrangements to decorate important places of the city with the colours of the national flag. Special type of 'façade lighting' will be done at these places. The tricolour located at Mini Secretariat, Rampur Bridge, Shaheed Smarak and MC Park will be decorated with the colours of the national flag.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh, SDM Una Vishwamohan Dev Chauhan, Assistant Commissioner Rakesh Sharma along with officers of various departments and representatives of educational institutions were present in this meeting.
