Loans worth Rs 1.43 crore distributed to 48 self-help groups.
277 loan applications received, 83 got loan approval.
Una, March 22- Loan day was organized in District Rural Development Agency Hall Una on Saturday under National Rural Livelihood Mission. Assistant Commissioner Una Virendra Sharma presided over this program. District administration, bank representatives and women associated with 25 registered self-help groups of the district participated in the program.
During the loan day, officials of various banks informed the women of self-help groups about the process of obtaining loan, grant schemes and financial assistance in business activities.
Assistant Commissioner Varinder Sharma said that the purpose of organizing loan day is to make women self-reliant by providing them financial assistance. He said that the government is running various schemes to make women empowered and self-reliant. He urged women to take advantage of these schemes to expand their business so that they can take their business forward and become self-reliant.
On this occasion, loans worth Rs 1.43 crore were distributed to 48 self-help groups of Una district. Apart from this, 277 loan applications were received from women of self-help groups, out of which 83 applications were approved and loans worth Rs 1.15 crore were issued.
During the program, Assistant Commissioner Varinder Sharma also honored the self-help groups doing excellent work by giving them certificates.
On this occasion, BDO KL Verma, BDO Amb Ompal Dogra, BDO Gagret Surendra Jetley, BDO Haroli Rajeshwar Bhatia, DPM DRDA Una Jyoti Sharma, women of various self-help groups, bank representatives and others were present.
