SAS Nagar, June 9- A literary and cultural programme was organised in memory of Ruby Baironpuri by her family in collaboration with Puadhi Manch at the memorial site of Ruby Baironpuri. On this occasion, renowned litterateurs Manmohan Singh Daun, Dr. Gurmeet Singh Baidwan, former District Language Officer of Mohali Dr. Davinder Singh Boha, notable lyricist Fakir Mauli Wala and Shiromani Akali Dal Mohali constituency's chief sevadar Parvinder Singh Sohana attended as chief guests.
The first part of the programme was literary in which four prominent personalities of the region were felicitated. The felicitated persons included renowned novelist Jasbir Singh Mand, famous film actor Malkit Singh Rauni, famous social worker and director of Prabh Aasra Trust Shamsher Singh Padiyala and international level sportsperson Zoe Baidwan. All of them were felicitated with some books and commemorative certificates.
The special thing about the program was that Gora Isru, who worked with Ruby Baironpuri as a long-time assistant artist in the akhadas, was specially present at the function. Malwai Gidda was presented under the leadership of Davinder Singh Jugni on the beats of dhol and algojs of Karamjit Singh Bugga.
On this occasion, Inderjit Singh started the program by presenting a religious song of Ruby Baironpuri. After this, Dr. Jaspal Singh Jassi, Gurdeep Kaur, Mannu Moral, Gurinder Gahiri, Ramzan Ali Sher, Mannat Bajwa, Rajveer Tiwana, Lakhwinder Lucky, Avtar Singh Jandiala, Bhanghu Jaildar, Paramjit Pammi, Shamsher Siampur, Jyoti Kohinoor, Jind Sandhu and other artists presented a wonderful musical program.
The program was hosted by Gurpreet Singh Niyamiyan and Sai Saketri. A large number of people from the surrounding villages enjoyed the program till late night.
