The maximum temperature in the state has dropped by an average of 6.5 degrees Celsius. Along with this, the maximum temperature was 2.7 degrees Celsius below normal. After the weather deteriorated in Delhi late last night, many flights were diverted to Amritsar.
According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, 4 mm of rain was recorded in Amritsar yesterday. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius (in Patiala and Bathinda). Along with this, the minimum temperature has also dropped by an average of 0.8 degrees Celsius, but it is still 4.3 degrees Celsius above normal. The lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 16.7 degrees Celsius at Thein Dam in Pathankot.
Due to bad weather in Delhi-NCR today, many domestic and international flights were not allowed to land at Delhi airport. At least seven flights were diverted to Amritsar airport due to thick clouds, strong winds and low visibility.
