Patiala, June 13 - The martyrdom day of the fifth Patshah Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was celebrated with devotion at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar Old Press Road. The group of women recited for 40 days on the occasion of Martyrdom Day. Ragi Singhs performed kirtan on Gurpurab day. On this occasion, Sant Samsher Singh Jagera, President of International Sant Samaj, entertained the devotees through stories.

While narrating, he shed light on the life of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. He asked for further promotion of Sikhi and children to adopt Gurmukhi script. He said that today children are moving away from Sikhism, Sikh youth are falling prey to patriarchy. They asked the mothers to keep uda and judas for their children. On this occasion, Bhai Balwinder Singh, Chief Sevadar of Gurdwara Sahib and President Kanwaljit Singh Malhotra specially honored Sant Jagera with Siropao.
At the end, Kanwaljit Malhotra thanked the participants. Sukhwinder Singh Senior Vice President, Bakshish Singh, Gurjit Singh, Tejinder Kaur, Inderjit Kaur, Darshan Kaur, Surinderpal Singh Sachdeva, Paramjit Singh, Gagandeep Kaur, Gurnaj Kaur, Amarjit Kaur and other members were present on this occasion. On this occasion, a bowl of cold sweet water was installed and the Guru used langar.
