Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 29, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Smt. Komal Mittal today held a meeting and assigned duties and responsibilities to the district officers for the preparations for the district level Independence Day function which is being celebrated on August 15, 2025 at the ground of Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh Government College.
During the meeting at the District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar, Mohali, she assigned duties and responsibilities to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), SDM for march past, parking of vehicles of visiting guests, tableaux and cultural program. Assigned responsibilities to officers of various departments including Mohali and District Police.
Asked the Health Department officers to deploy medical teams along with women doctors for the rehearsals and the day of the program. Asked the Regional Transport Officer to arrange necessary vehicles for the students participating in the cultural program of government schools and for the smooth transportation of the media from the parking lot near the Dara Studio to the program.
He instructed the officers to make proper arrangements for drinking water and temporary wash rooms so that no one faces any problem during the rehearsal and program.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the full dress rehearsal will be held on August 13, while the drill/rehearsal of the preparations before the program in the stadium will be held on August 11 and 12. He also asked the officers of the concerned departments to clean the ground before the rehearsal and to arrange seating, drinking water and medical team for the students during the rehearsal and during the main program.
The Deputy Commissioner said that applications for awarding commendations for special services during the event should be submitted by August 08, 2025, which should include significant achievements.
Smt. Komal Mittal said that freedom fighters should be invited to attend the event in a dignified manner and suitable arrangements should be made for their seating.
On this occasion, Commissioner Mohali Corporation Parminder Pal Singh, MC Mohali, Parminder Pal Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Anmol Dhaliwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, SDM, Mohali Damandeep Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr. Ankita Kansal and officers of various other departments were present.
