Nawanshahr:- The newly elected Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members were administered the oath of office during a function organized by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar administration at the local Shivalik Public School. MLA Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur and other eminent personalities administered the oath to the members in the presence of a large number of people present.
While talking to the newly elected representatives, MLA Sukhi appealed to them to work with dedication and to take maximum benefit of government welfare schemes to the ground level. He stressed that the pro-people activities of the Punjab government should be implemented effectively so that the common people can get real benefits. Congratulating the members on their victory, MLA Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi assured full support from the state government and said that there will be no shortage of funds for development works.
He appealed to the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members to play an active role in keeping the youth away from drugs and contribute to making Punjab colorful again. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner General Jagdeep Singh, Chairman District Planning Board Satnam Singh Jalalpur, Vice Chairman Water Resources Management and Development Kuljit Singh Sarhal, Chairman Market Committee Banga Balbir Karnana and people were present.
