Youth murdered with sharpedged weapons body dumped by roadside after abduction

Garhshankar: A case has come to light regarding the murder of Manjit Singh (alias Gani), a 27-year-old resident of Bhawanipur village in the 'Beet' area, who was killed using sharp-edged weapons. According to reports, Manjit Singh was standing by the roadside near a petrol station with his friend Suraj (a resident of Achalpur) around 12:00 PM. At that time, about half a dozen armed youths arrived in a white Scorpio (registration number PB-65-AG-9400), forcibly abducted Manjit, and took him towards Adda Jhungian.
About two hours later, the accused dumped Manjit—who was critically injured—on the Bine-wal main road near Adda Jhungian and fled the scene. Upon receiving information about the incident, he was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Garhshankar, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
According to doctors, a deep wound caused by a sharp-edged weapon was found on the left side of the deceased's head near the ear, and injuries were also observed on both legs. Confirmation regarding any gunshot wounds will only be possible after the post-mortem report is received.
Preliminary investigations suggest that an old enmity might be the motive behind the incident. It has also been revealed that the deceased, Manjit Singh, had been released on bail from jail a few months ago in connection with an assault case.
The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused. An atmosphere of panic and grief prevails across the entire area following this incident.
