World No Tobacco Day celebrated at Vardhman Thread Yard Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur:- As per the orders of Honorable Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur, World No Tobacco Day was celebrated at Vardhman Thread Yard Hoshiarpur by District De-Addiction Rehabilitation Center Mohalla Fatehgarh Hoshiarpur. On this occasion, Medical Officer Inch: Dr. Jasleen Kaur was present as the chief guest. Counselor Prashant Adia was also present with her. On this occasion, Vandana Senior Executive, JP Singh Senior VC IC, and Khushboo and other officers and workers from the factory were present.
On this occasion, Medical Officer Dr. Jasleen Kaur said that according to the World Health Organization, drug addiction is a mental illness. She said that tobacco has been considered "the gateway to other drugs". Because 4000-7000 thousand chemicals are found in tobacco. He said that 25 percent nicotine is found in tobacco, which affects the heart, kidney and every organ of the body of a person. He said that tobacco also affects women a lot. Tobacco causes 70 types of cancer.
On this occasion, Counselor Prashant Adia said that drug addiction is a mental illness, he said that drug addiction is a recurring and long-lasting mental illness. It is like a disease of sugar and BP. He said that its treatment is done free of cost by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab.
He said that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has started a Tele Manas app for the anxiety, depression, depression and drug addiction of a person and we can get any kind of counseling done on the free 24-hour helpline number 14416 and 1800-89-14416. At the district level, helpline number 85580-01882 can be contacted.
On this occasion, Parminder Kaur Counselor said that 02 drug de-addiction centers are running in Hoshiarpur district, District Hospital Hoshiarpur and Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital Dasuha. Where the drug addict patient is kept under treatment for 90 days at the Government Rehabilitation Center Mohalla Fatehgarh Hoshiarpur after detoxification for 15 to 21 days. Here, the patient is given courses under the Vocational Skill Development Program with the support of the District Administration and Red Cross. With which a small effort is made to help the person stand on his own feet.
After this, OOAT clinics are run by the Health Department Punjab at the district level, sub-divisional level and all CHC levels. Where online based medicine is started with the written consent of the patient and family. This treatment is done for a year.
Apart from this, OST centers are running under the National AIDS Control Program where patients who are IV users are treated. On this occasion, everyone took an oath to remain drug free.
