Work on installing studs on Yamuna embankments must be completed soon DC

Karnal, June 6: DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma inspected the Yamuna embankment areas and drains on Saturday to review preparedness for handling potential flood and waterlogging situations during the monsoon season. During the visit, he inspected the villages of Dilavara, Kundakalan, and Shergarh Tapu, as well as the Main Mati Drain, and issued necessary directives to the officials.
During the inspection, DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma instructed Irrigation Department officials to ensure that all necessary preparations for the monsoon season are completed well in time. He stated that protecting the villages and agricultural land situated along the Yamuna from erosion and floods is the administration's top priority.
He directed officials to expedite the completion of any ongoing or proposed work regarding the installation of studs aimed at strengthening the embankments. He emphasized that no negligence regarding the quality of work would be tolerated.
DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma ordered officials to maintain constant vigilance at all vulnerable points and to ensure the drainage system is fully functional to handle any emergency situation. SDM Devendra Sharma, Irrigation Department Superintending Engineer Sanjay, Executive Engineer Manoj, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
