Will not provide buses for political rallies Contractual employees

Faridkot- Announcing a major policy change, the Punjab Roadways/PRTC Contractual Employees Union has formally informed the PRTC General Manager that its members will no longer provide buses for political rallies. Contractual employees will confine their work to daily route duties only.
The union’s decision has been taken due to the government’s continued failure to address their long-pending demands despite repeated promises.
Most importantly, the employees also cited serious security concerns. In which the latest incident was mentioned, when firing took place at a political rally. Citing security issues, the union announced that they will not take vehicles to any political rally until their issues are resolved.
The letter submitted to the PRTC management said that the contract workers feel unsafe and will not cooperate in using buses for political rallies. The union's decision comes after a violent incident in Tarn Taran last week. A group of youths allegedly attacked a Punjab Roadways bus that was carrying Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's rally.
