Ratia November 19:-  A special tribute ceremony was organized at the Government Senior Secondary School, Mohammadpur Sotra (MP Sotra), on the 24th martyrdom day of Shaheed Devendra Singh during the Chetna Week. The biography and sacrifice of Ratia's first martyr, Devendra Singh, were discussed in detail. 
Principal Pradeep Kumar stated in his address that we are free only because of the martyrs. Discussing the memorial work being carried out by the Shaheed Devendra Singh Memorial Trust for the past 23 years, he emphasized the importance of remembering the martyrs' sacrifices and maintaining a sense of dedication to the country.
 Presenting the biography of Shaheed Devendra Singh, a Class 12 student, Ravdeep Kaur explained that Shaheed Devendra Singh was Ratia's first martyr. He is proud to be a student of class 10th of our MP Sotra School. He became the apple of every mother's eye by sacrificing his life to maintain the honour and pride of the country in the Kargil war. We salute him a hundred times.
As per the theme of Chetna Week, the students raised slogans of Drive Away Drugs, Save Lives and Plant Trees - Save Lives.
On this occasion, Principal Pradeep Kumar, Lecturer Baljinder Singh Khokhar, English Lecturer Rohit Kumar, Punjabi Master Dalbir Singh, Harish Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Kewal Singh, Anil Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Pargat Singh, Suresh Kumar, Kalpana Yadav, Meenu Rani, Kiran Bala, Sukhmohinder Kaur and staff were present.
