Voting in 81 Panchayats of Una District Concludes Peacefully in the Final Phase
Una, May 30: The voting process in 81 Panchayats of Una district was successfully concluded today (Saturday) in a peaceful, fair, and harmonious atmosphere. According to data received at the district headquarters by 6:45 PM, in this third and final phase, 92,109 out of a total of 115,712 registered voters exercised their franchise, resulting in an average voter turnout of 79.60 percent.
Specifically, out of 57,328 female voters, 47,997 cast their votes, while 44,112 out of 58,383 male voters exercised their franchise. During the voting process, a distinct enthusiasm for this "festival of democracy" was observed across all sections of society—including the youth, the elderly, and women. Long queues of voters were witnessed at various polling stations right from the morning hours.
Sharing this information, Una District Election Officer Jatin Lal stated that among the 81 Panchayats in the district, the highest voter turnout percentage—81.91 percent—was recorded in the Bangana sub-division. Here, across 77 wards within 15 Panchayats, a total of 14,185 voters cast their ballots, comprising 7,394 female and 6,791 male voters. Meanwhile, in Amb, the voter turnout stood at 80.23 percent; a total of 19,530 voters cast their votes there, including 10,058 female and 9,472 male voters.
In Una, the voter turnout was 79.80 percent, with a total of 20,928 voters exercising their franchise—comprising 10,929 female and 9,999 male voters. In Gagret, the turnout was 79 percent, with a total of 19,113 voters casting their ballots, including 9,981 female and 9,132 male voters. Furthermore, the voter turnout in Haroli stood at 77.66%, with a total of 18,353 voters exercising their franchise—comprising 9,635 female and 8,718 male voters.
