Una, October 24 - As part of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Samarth Program 2025, organized by the District Disaster Management and Authority, Una, people in Amb and Naihariyan were raised on Friday about the importance of earthquake-resistant building construction. Artists from RK Kala Manch Chintpurni, a folk media group affiliated with the Information and Public Relations Department, informed the public about various methods and basic knowledge of safe building construction.
The artists emphasized that buildings, whether residential or non-residential, should be constructed in an earthquake-resistant manner to prevent loss of life and property during any disaster.
Before making any structural changes to buildings, consult an engineer to minimize earthquake damage. The artists also educated the public about the essential elements used in building earthquake-resistant buildings, such as the use of high-quality cement mortar, horizontal earthquake-resistant bands, reinforcement of brick walls, vertical reinforcement of opening jambs, and foundations.
