Villagers in Langroa were made aware about Bis

Nawanshahr:- A special team led by Faran Chand from Chandigarh today by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution of the Government of India made the people present at the Panchayat Ghar of Langroa aware about "Bis" Bureau of Indian Standards.
Faran Chand told the people present that under the Gram Chaupal campaign, how the Bis logo is being used to humanize domestic products, quality of daily used items, women entrepreneurship and mutual trust between shopkeepers and consumers etc.
Just as hallmark is mandatory for the purity of gold karat and fineness, similarly it is mandatory for every consumer to have information about the standard mark like ISI logo under Bis for every genuine domestic product. Similarly, the Bis team provided information about the purity of real and fake for daily used items like gas stoves, presses, helmets and mobile phones etc.
On this occasion, the village Sarpanch Ranjit Singh expressed his satisfaction for the information provided by the BIS team's Faran Chand and thanked him. A good effort was made to provide tea and water to the dignitaries present. On this occasion, Sarpanch Ranjit Singh, Dr. Avtar Bali, besides the village audience were present.
