Vigilance Bureau catches senior assistant redhanded while taking bribe of Rs 10000
Chandigarh:- During the ongoing campaign against corruption in the state, Punjab Vigilance Bureau has caught senior assistant Davinder Singh posted at CRC Branch, SSP Office Barnala red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 10,000. Sharing this information here today, a spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the accused has been arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a resident of village Dangarh, district Barnala.
The spokesperson said that the complainant is working as an assistant sub-inspector and had requested for an extension in his service. The complainant alleged that the accused senior assistant demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 in return for helping him in getting an extension in his service period.
But the complainant did not consider it appropriate to get his work done by paying bribe 9 That is why he approached the Vigilance Bureau Range, Patiala. After preliminary investigation on his complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team arrested the accused Senior Assistant Davinder Singh red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Vigilance Bureau police station Patiala and further investigation into the matter is underway.
