Veer Bal Diwas a day to remember the sacrifice of brave Sahibzadas PM

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that 'Veer Bal Diwas' is a day of devotion, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of brave Sahibzadas, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on January 9, 2022, the Prime Minister had announced that December 26 will be celebrated as 'Veer Bal Diwas' to commemorate the martyrdom of Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji, whose unparalleled sacrifice has inspired generations.
The Prime Minister said in a post on 'X', "Veer Bal Diwas is a day of devotion, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of brave Sahibzadas. We remember the unwavering faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the immortal teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji." The Prime Minister said that this day is associated with courage, determination and justice and the lives and ideals of the Sahibzadas will continue to inspire people for generations to come.
He will also address an event in Delhi on the occasion. On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, various programmes are being organised by the Government of India across the country, which aim to make citizens aware of the extraordinary courage and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas and to honour the bravery of these young heroes of India's history. These activities will include storytelling sessions, poetry recitation, poster making and essay writing competitions.
