US officials to visit Pakistan for talks with Iran Donald Trump

Washington DC: US ??President Donald Trump on Sunday revealed in a post on social media platform 'Truth Social' that US representatives are going to Pakistan's capital Islamabad tomorrow night for talks with Iran. Trump's statement has attracted international attention as relations between Iran and the US are currently at a very critical juncture and Pakistan is playing an important mediator role in these talks. The Iranian army today issued a warning and turned back two commercial oil tankers trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a report by Iran's semi-official news agency 'Tasnim', this step has been taken in response to the US's maritime blockade of Iran. After this incident, tensions in the Gulf region have once again reached their peak as this route of Hormuz is considered the most important sea route for global oil supplies. Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the European Union’s stance on the rules of navigation in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Accusing the EU of “double standards” and “hypocrisy,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that the talk of “unconditional passage” has now become just a story. He made it clear that the aggressive actions of the US and Israel have changed the security equation in the region.
Reacting sharply to the statements of the EU’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Baghai said that Europe only uses international laws to lecture others. He questioned why Europe keeps quiet and gives a green light to these actions when the US and Israel adopt an aggressive stance against Iran and atrocities are committed against Iranians. Baghai said that the European Union's failure to follow through on its promise has made a mockery of international law.
