US imposes sanctions on 32 entities and individuals from several countries including India

WASHINGTON - The US on Wednesday imposed sanctions on 32 entities and individuals from India, China and several other countries for their alleged involvement in Iran's ballistic missile program. The US State Department said in a statement that the action is part of President Donald Trump's efforts to deter Iran's aggressive development of missiles and other weapons.
The statement said, “The United States is today imposing sanctions on 32 entities and individuals located in Iran, China, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, India, and other regions that are associated with various supply networks that support Iran’s ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle production.”
The State Department said the move is consistent with the reimposition of UN sanctions and other sanctions in September in response to Iran’s “significant violations” of its nuclear commitments. John K. Hurley, Under Secretary of the Treasury for Counterterrorism and Economic Intelligence, said that Iran misuses the global financial system to transfer funds and procure essential materials for its nuclear and conventional weapons programs.
“At President Trump’s direction, the United States is exerting maximum pressure on Iran to eliminate its nuclear threat,” he said. Hurley added, “The United States also expects the international community to fully comply with UN sanctions.” "The Finance Ministry said that India-based 'Formalen Private Limited' has been linked to a United Arab Emirates-based company called 'Marco Kling', which allegedly helped in the supply of materials like sodium chlorate and sodium perchlorate.
