Urban development works to get a boost in Haryana

Chandigarh, December 10:- The Haryana Government has released Rs 1700 crore to the Haryana Urban Development Authority and various Metropolitan Development Authorities with the aim of strengthening urban development and giving impetus to infrastructure improvements in the major urban assets of the state.
The Chief Minister, while addressing a press conference held at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday, said that the Haryana Government is committed to providing reliable urban infrastructure to the citizens of the state by giving high priority to urban development. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana was also present on the occasion.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that in the budget speech of the financial year 2025-26, it was announced that Rs 3,000 crore would be allocated from the EDC Fund to the Haryana Urban Development Authority and the Development Authorities of Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panchkula and Hisar for urban development works. He said that while giving substance to the budget announcement, the Town and Country Planning Department has made significant progress towards effective utilization of the ADC Fund. The Chief Minister said that Rs 1500 crore has already been released from the EDC Fund to various Metropolitan Development Authorities in the financial year 2025-26. Apart from this, a total of Rs 1700 crore has been released today for development works in various urban estates. These include Rs 700 crore to Haryana Urban Development Authority, Rs 700 crore to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, Rs 170 crore to Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, Rs 30 crore to Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, Rs 80 crore to Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority, and Rs 20 crore to Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority.
Shri Naib Singh Saini, while mentioning the achievements of the financial year 2024-25, said that the department released Rs 2188 crore to the state's metropolitan development authorities for development works in various urban estates.
On this occasion, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department and Financial Commissioner Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of the Town and Country Planning Department Mr. AK Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cooperation Department Mr. Vijender Kumar, Special Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Mr. Prabhjot Singh, Director of the Agriculture Department Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik, Director of the Town and Country Planning Department Mr. Amit Khatri, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Yashpal, Director General of the Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Mr. Partha Gupta, Additional Director (Administration) Mrs. Varsha Khangwal, Media Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Praveen Atre were present.
