Under14 Zonal Tournament Boys Concludes Deputy Chief Minister Honors Winning Teams

Una, September 5:- Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri presided over the closing ceremony of the three-day 41st Under-14 Boys Zone Haroli Sports Competition organized at PM Shri Government Excellence Senior Secondary School, Kangar, on Saturday.
Held from September 3 to 5, the competition saw 346 players from 35 schools participate across six sports, including volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, chess, wrestling, and badminton.
The Deputy Chief Minister presented awards to the winner and runner-up teams as well as individual players. Wishing all participating players a bright future, he congratulated the organizers for the successful event and motivated students to actively participate in academics and extra-curricular activities alongside sports. He stated that continuous efforts are being made to transform Haroli into an educational and sports hub.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister announced the start of music education classes at Kangar School starting next year. He also announced the construction of an additional four-room building, the installation of a solar power plant, and the development of an improved drainage system at the school. He instructed the XEN of the concerned department to take immediate necessary action regarding the drainage system. Furthermore, he announced Rs 5 lakh each for the improvement and construction of streets in Ward No. 2 and Ward No. 5 of Kangar.
Earlier, he inaugurated a digital library constructed at a cost of Rs 13.75 lakh at the school.
Mukesh Agnihotri stated that along with providing better educational facilities to students, sports and cultural activities are also being actively promoted. He announced Rs 31,000 for the children who presented cultural performances. He called upon the School Management Committee (SMC) to contribute actively to efforts aimed at taking the school forward.
He mentioned that the second building of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri Government College, Haroli, will be ready by next year, providing additional and improved academic facilities to students. He added that efforts are being made to introduce M.Sc., Law, and Music classes at the college starting next session. He urged sports teachers, DPEs, and PETs to share their vision so that necessary infrastructure can be developed to make Haroli a sports hub.
The Deputy Chief Minister announced that a fair will be organized at the Kangar grounds on the occasion of Holi. He asked the Gram Panchayat Pradhan to prepare an outline for organizing the fair to boost local cultural activities.
Speaking on the construction of various bridges in the Haroli assembly constituency with central government assistance, Mukesh Agnihotri noted that securing funds from the Center is a continuous process requiring persistent efforts. He stated that the state government is making regular efforts to secure central funds and accelerate regional development. He added that the Union Minister has granted approval for the construction of two more bridges in the Haroli constituency.

On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister presented awards to the winning, runner-up teams, and outstanding players.
In volleyball, the team from Government High School (GHS) Gurplah emerged as the winner, while Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Haroli was the runner-up. In kabaddi, GSSS Dulaihar won the title, and GSSS Beetan was the runner-up. In badminton, GSSS Haroli bagged the first position, while ANM Tahliwal finished as the runner-up.
In kho-kho, Government Middle School (GMS) Lower Lalri emerged victorious, and GSSS Lalri was the runner-up. In chess, GSSS Bhatt Kalan secured first place, while GSSS Palakwah was the runner-up.
In wrestling (35 kg category), Mithun Kumar of GHS Gurplah won gold, Bharat of GHS Palakwah won silver, and Amit Kumar of GHS Gurplah won bronze. In the 38 kg category, Naman Singh of GHS Gurplah won gold, Sachin Kumar of the same school won silver, and Raghav of GSSS Gondpur Jaichand won bronze.
In the 41 kg category, Sahil Kumar of GHS Gurplah won gold, Neeraj of GSSS Beetan won silver, and Taranjeet of GSSS Gondpur Jaichand won bronze. In the 44 kg category, Neeraj of GSSS Beetan won gold, Ishan of GSSS Gondpur Jaichand won silver, and Divyansh of GSSS Beetan won bronze.
In the 52 kg category, Satyam of GSSS Beetan won gold, Satbir of the same school won silver, and Dilpreet of GSSS Gondpur Jaichand won bronze. In the 57 kg category, Abhishek of GHS Gurplah, and in the 75 kg category, Ram of GSSS Beetan won gold medals.
In wrestling, GHS Gurplah emerged as the overall champion, while GSSS Beetan finished as the runner-up. The march past trophy of the tournament was won by PM Shri Government Excellence Senior Secondary School, Kangar.
During the event, Kangar Pradhan Vinod Bittu expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister for the unprecedented development in the Kangar region.
