Una District Tops in Health Services

Una, October 9 – Una district has set another milestone in the field of health services. In the year 2024-25, 73 health institutions in the district were awarded the Kayakalp Award. The district received a prize money of ?53.85 lakh for this remarkable achievement.
At the meeting of the District Quality Assurance Committee and the District Awards Committee in the auditorium of the Zonal Hospital on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal expressed his happiness over this achievement and praised all the officers and employees of the Health Department. He said that Una district has consistently achieved excellent work over the years, becoming the district with the highest number of Kayakalp Awards in the state.
He said that efforts to improve health services in the district will continue. He said that good health and education are two important pillars of social security. When we provide quality health facilities, it has a positive impact on the entire society.
He said that a progressive society is one where education and health are given top priority, and Una district is making remarkable progress in this direction.
At the meeting, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Verma informed that 73 health institutions in Una district were selected for the Kayakalp Award by national and state-level selection teams based on national quality assurance standards. This selection was made through an external assessment process. He stated that the district has improved the quality of health services year after year and has also increased the number of awards received in various categories each year.
At the meeting, Health Medical Officer Dr. Sukhdeep Singh Sidhu introduced the officials, while District Advisory Officer Dr. Raman Kumar Sandal provided information on the progress of the health sector and departmental activities.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner honored the Chief Medical Officer, Health Medical Officer, all Block Medical Officers, Community Health Officers, and other officers and employees associated with the mission by presenting them with certificates of appreciation.
Medical Superintendent Dr Sanjay Mankotia, Principal of Regional Health and Family Welfare Training Centre Chaib Dr Rajiv Gurg, all Block Medical Officers, Health Medical Officer Dr Sukhdeep Singh, District Programme Officer Dr Ankit Chaudhary were present in the meeting.
